SUMMARY:[Coming Soon] WBR Harvard TT
DESCRIPTION:The Harvard 33k TT (Time Trial)\, sponsored by Wisconsin Bicycle Racing (WBR) and hosted by the Wisconsin-Illinois Cycling Association (WIIL Cycle)\, is a fast-paced solo race in Harvard\, IL\, at Milky Way Park (300 Lawrence Rd\, Harvard\, IL 60033). This American Bike Racing (ABR)-sanctioned event starts at 8:30 AM CDT\, with riders launching every minute as part of the Mid America Time Trial Series (MATTS). The 33-kilometer (20-mile) course welcomes all levels—juniors\, masters\, and open categories – offering a flat\, open challenge ideal for speed enthusiasts. WBR\, known for Kenosha-area TTs\, brings grassroots passion with medals for the top 5 per category and cash prizes ($30 for fastest overall\, $25 for second\, $20 for third\, plus women’s and juniors’ awards). Register at wiilcycle.org/register for $30 (adults) or $15 (juniors 18 & under) – on-site adds $10\, opening at 7:00 AM. \nThe course is a swift big dipper loop\, starting at Milky Way Park’s lot off Lawrence Road. Riders head southwest on Flat Iron Road (road changes its name in Boone County to Angling Road) all the way to Denny Road.  It is a left turn (heading South) on Denny Road to Orth\, where you make another left to head back East.  One last left turn on Capron Rd takes you North where you make a right turn back onto Angling/Flat Iron Rd and head back to the start/finish. It’s nearly flat (<80 ft elevation)\, with small rollers over smooth pavement cutting through McHenry and Boone Counties’ farmland and prairie\, great for 15 to 30+mph efforts. Open fields offer little wind protection\, but the simplicity keeps focus on power. Open to traffic\, safety is critical – ride right\, use a rear red blinker (highly recommended)\, and follow course marshals. \nTravel Directions\n\nFrom Milwaukee\, WI (60 miles southwest): Take I-94 W south ~40 miles to I-43 S\, exit at WI-120 S (Exit 36)\, go south 10 miles to IL-173 W\, turn right\, follow 8 miles to Lawrence Rd\, then right to 300 Lawrence Rd (1-1.25 hr drive).\nFrom Kenosha\, WI (35 miles west): Head west on WI-50 W for ~20 miles\, merge onto IL-173 W via US-12\, continue 12 miles\, turn right onto Lawrence Rd to 300 Lawrence Rd (45-55 min drive).\nFrom Madison\, WI (80 miles southeast): Drive east on I-90 E for ~60 miles\, exit at IL-23 S (Exit 36)\, go south 15 miles to IL-173 E\, turn left\, follow 3 miles\, then left onto Lawrence Rd to 300 Lawrence Rd (1.5-1.75 hr drive).\nFrom Chicago\, IL (65 miles northwest): Take I-90 W north ~55 miles\, exit at IL-173 W (Exit 8)\, head west 8 miles\, turn right onto Lawrence Rd to 300 Lawrence Rd (1-1.5 hr drive).\n\nRegister

SUMMARY:[Coming Soon] SKR Kankakee 20k TT
DESCRIPTION:Race Flyer \nThe Kankakee 20k TT (Time Trial) rolls is a cornerstone of Illinois cycling\, sponsored by Stray Kats Racing in the heart of Kankakee County. This solo race against the clock pits riders against a flat\, fast 20-kilometer course along the Kankakee River – a perfect stage for triathletes\, road racers\, and first-timers alike to test their speed and stamina. Known as “The Race of Truth\,” time trials strip cycling to its core: you\, your bike\, and pure effort – no drafting\, no pack tactics\, just power versus time. Whether you’re chasing a personal best or dipping into competitive cycling\, the Kankakee 20k TT offers a welcoming\, grassroots vibe amid Illinois’ wide-open prairie. \nThe Course: Flat\, Fast\, and Midwest-Fresh\nThe Kankakee 20k TT course is a classic out-and-back\, starting and near Splash Valley WaterPark. Riders head east on River Road\, then loop back after 10k—mostly flat with a slight rise over the I-57 overpass. Asphalt and chip-seal surfaces are in good shape\, offering smooth rolling despite rural charm. Expect: \n\nTerrain: Flat (0-1% grades)\, minimal elevation (~50 ft)—ideal for 25-30 mph efforts.\nScenery: Golden fields\, the Kankakee River’s edge\, and occasional barns—pure Midwest vistas.\nConditions: May brings 60-75°F temps\, 60-70% humidity\, and 10-15 mph winds—tailwind out\, headwind back (or vice versa).\n\nOpen to traffic\, the course demands caution—ride right\, use a rear red blinker (highly recommended)\, and watch intersections (marshals assist). It’s less technical than Wisconsin’s hilly TTs\, making it a speed lover’s dream and a forgiving intro for newbies. Strava data from past years shows top riders averaging 26-28 mph—can you beat it? \nWhy Ride the Kankakee 20k TT?\nThis TT isn’t just another race—it’s a Midwest cycling rite. Here’s why it belongs on this year’s calendar: \n\nSolo Glory: No pack to chase—just your power against the clock\, a true test of fitness.\nAccessibility: The Road Bike category levels the field—ride what you’ve got\, no TT bike required.\nCommunity Vibe: WIIL Cycle’s grassroots spirit shines—post-race chats at Splash Valley unite riders of all stripes.\nStrategic Edge: For triathletes or road racers\, it’s a pacing and aero lab—skills that carry to bigger events.\n\nKankakee’s Cycling Legacy\nKankakee County has quietly grown into an Illinois cycling hub\, with the 20k TT building on events like the Two Rivers Century. Its flat roads—once farm paths—now host speed demons and endurance riders alike. WIIL Cycle tapped this vibe\, making the Kankakee 20k a staple since its grassroots debut. Local lore ties it to the river’s flow—steady\, strong\, and unyielding—mirroring the TT’s solo ethos. Past winners averaged 27 mph\, but every finisher adds to the story. \n9 am start\, with one minute intervals. Day of event opens 8 am. \nKankakee 20k TT Entry Fees\n\nAdults $30\nJuniors 18 & under $15\n2nd race $10\nABR membership required: purchase one day $10 ($5 for Junior) or Annual $30\, ($10 for Junior)\n\nRegister
