Launch your Memorial Day Weekend with the Memorial Day Weekend Omnium Stage #1! Hosted by the Wisconsin-Illinois Cycling Association, sanctioned by American Bicycle Racing (ABR), and proudly sponsored by Athletes by Design, this electrifying road racing criterium unfolds on a compact, high-energy circuit in Wood Dale, IL  – just 20 miles west of Chicago. Perfect for newcomers and seasoned riders alike, this event blends fast-paced criterium racing with a supportive community atmosphere. Race alongside passionate cyclists, soak in the excitement, and kick off the omnium series with a bang!

Memorial Day Weekend Omnium Stage #1 Schedule

9:00 AM – Men’s Masters 60+ & up, Women’s 50+ & up (35 min)
9:45 AM – Juniors, Men’s & Women’s Cat 4/5 (35 min)
10:30 AM – Men’s 50+, Women’s Cat 1/2/3 (50 min)
11:30 AM – Men’s Cat 1/2/3 (60 min)
12:40 PM – ParaCyclist – hand-cycles, tricycle, upright, tandem (35 min)

Memorial Day Prize List:

TT Prize list – Road Bike Category
Top 3 Men/ 1st $75, 2nd $50, 3rd $25
Top 3 Women/ 1st $75, 2nd $50, 3rd $25

Criterium Prize Lists: (Wood Dale first and second races)
Men & Women 1,2,3 (minimum of 10 racers in each Category, otherwise prize list will be reduced by appropriate percentage)
1st $300, 2nd $200, 3rd $100, 4th $80, 5th $60
Masters 50+ (minimum of 10 racers in each Category, otherwise prize list will be reduced by appropriate percentage)
1st $100, 2nd $80, 3rd $50

Omnium Prize Lists:
*Each Category MUST have a minimum of 10 racers and participate in all three events, otherwise prize list will be reduced by appropriate percentage*

Time Trial- 1st-20pts, 2nd-19pts, 3rd-18pts, 4th-17, 5th-16, 6th-15, 7th-14, 8th-14, 9th-12, 10th-11, 11th-10, 12th- 9, 13th-8, 14th-7, 15th-6, 16th-5, 17th-4, 18th-3, 19th-2, 20th-1pt

If tied in points, best result on last day to break tie

Time Trial on Road Bikes (no aero bikes for omnium participation)

Late May in Wood Dale brings ideal racing conditions, with average highs of 70-75°F and a mix of sunshine and occasional light showers. Dress for warm, comfortable laps, and be ready for a crisp morning start that warms up fast – perfect weather to fuel your criterium racing
